PS3 software sales outstrip Xbox 360’s: PS3 attach rate up to 8.1
13th Mai 2010 08.32 Clock -
There is a saying that well worn markets software for PlayStation 3, at least on the Xbox 360 However, things change, because there was a significant improvement of both the PS3 hardware and software sales. Despite a smaller installed base, the PS3 software sales exceeded that of the Xbox 360 in fiscal year 2009.
We went in detail to sell on PS3 hardware, but now is the ability of the software. The PlayStation 3 benefited from 115.6 million software revenue for fiscal 2009, the Sony (as of 1 May 2009 to April 30, 2010), an increase from 2008 to 103.7 million units. Surprisingly, despite a lower hardware installed base, this performance was better than the Xbox 360, which reached 103.1 million software sales. The push PS3 will be safe due to a number of important outputs, such as God of War III.
This increase software performance also had an impact on the speed of the attack. That is, the average number of units sold of the software per console. In his life, the PS3 290.5 million units of software sold, PS3, compared to 35.7 million. What makes the PS3 fix with an impressive speed of 8.1 copies per console. This is now within reach of 8.8 Xbox 360 put to vote.
Just for fun, we also compare software sales than the PS1 and PS2 in the same period of four years during their lifetime. The PS1 sold 236.0000000 software units than the PS2 massive € 350.0000000. We have included a table below shows the number by 2009 software for each platform (in million) together with their software sales life-to-date, sales life-to-date hardware, software and annex their neighboring prices. Enjoy pondering over them.
