1st Exit I would like to thank all the reviewers on this forum for your contributions. Overall, very informative. In no way anyone could read this forum and not to come away with more than enough information to make an informed purchasing decision to make a lot.
A. Dent "Aragon" I must give you a gold star, especially for the consultation. Well done! It captures the major features and specific differences beautiful and I would like to make your opinion, if I can, to a mentality philosophical POV.
Some background information.
I am a software developer for several years. I grew up with MS. I have been developing their products since DOS 2.0. I am a MS guy through and through. pfft, of course, my cell phone with Windows Mobile. Ya, Win Mobile fits me for a moment or two, but I doubt that you ever own a phone that does not work Win Mobile.
I know exactly who has MS. Back in the day somehow sucked more than a few steps, but even then the best software companies have been in the industry. Not only that changed in my head, but there is no doubt that for me are currently better what they do than ever before.
Sure, there are a number of software developers out there that other companies only as good as any MS developers out there, and often better, but eh ...
At this point, there is no software company in the world even close to where MS is in relation to the maturity and quality. When I look at what Win 7 with Visual Studio NET 3.5 development coupled E., uh, these two things have always been the heart and soul of MS and these two things that are currently rocking harder than they ever have, no doubt.
I have always been a player in the world have been hard core PC FPS. So naturally, I hit the Xbox and played games on the Xbox, since it started.
I'm just saying, I've never owned an Xbox. I know at least six peeps with Xbox. Of these six, not four boxes of them. Two of them went the route RROD, and another had some internal error in the disk and the others had some problems with the internal connection funky. None of these fields, lasted one year. All owners know, the past by different degrees of the Rig-a-ma-roll to try to make their fields of solid and / or replaced.
HW problems and the reasons for the unreliability of Xbox are fairly well documented. Why MS decided, farm production was soon on Xbox never really a real quality control on the product have been pulling out for consumers. They never had a handle. You do not have much of a handle now. Given what I from the world of MS and SW, the brand new are already in the biz ... HW eh, so far I do not have to feel an Xbox. And no, it's certainly not for the money.
To be honest, I'm a FPS kinda guy. There is never a console + controller + game created, gives me the precision and control in general WASD FPS on a keyboard and a mouse was. I'm still waiting for one?
As I speak, I think everyone that owns an Xbox today or tomorrow to buy an Xbox is still an early adopter. As luck I have more than familiar with this dynamic. I have dealt with MS products and continuously every day. As I say, I know who has MS. I know how much research went into the Xbox and dev.
Speaking exclusively in the genre of FPS game, I think the Xbox is currently the best console platform out there. As well it should be. And it starts with the box and the controller. While the Xbox was not designed specifically for Halo, the thoughts were behind the box, GPU, and the controller designed to optimize create absolutely any FPS game experience for the Xbox platform. Again, the strategy can argue with that? In the video game industry, which is the biggest selling genre?
I really think that MS has the right idea for the console platform in relation to the concept of the entire gaming experience. Even without doubt for me that XBL $ various problems aside, the platform on the platform XBL PSN, as I post.
Since the beginning of MS, which have always many things, but basically stupid and stubborn has never been their trademark. At least not for long. MS is a lot, "as the Borg. If you would almost want to consume everything you and add to its uniqueness.
As already mentioned, I think the Xbox 360 controller now implements a design that is the advantage of the FPS genre better.
PS To be fair, the platform from the beginning to the PS controller in all its incarnations has never been designed to exploit a specific type of game. The PS controller is always designed to cast a much wider network on the nature of the game.
So the question is, given the fact that I am, and always will be a MS guy, because I never, never owned an Xbox? For my first console evar Slimboy buy this PS3?
Heheh, it's really a no Brainie for me. The PS3 is by far the best today's media center on the market.
Nothing comes close to the PS3 at this price seen what it can do. I already have a PC for serious games. I mean the latest exclusive title for the PS3 console will explore where the eval state of the art is truly a.
Seriously, the next Xbox comes to an initial 50 to 150 +, but even then the xbox can not output any material in any format to 1080p. See, for me? This right is a guarantee for failure.
MS can now KMA. The Xbox is not there yet.
I think MS can still hurt to this day behind the choice of the wrong side in the HD war behind. Anything? Until they built ship with Blu-Ray, WiFi in at a competitive price, and may have died for me to offer reliable and quality in this market segment.

I'm still in love with this console and what it brings to the table. I think it is the best console on the market at this point is the current price. Again ...


Pros:
1) Fricken Blu-Ray! Anyone with a TV-quality 1080p understands exactly what I am talking about. There are Blu-Ray player out there at this price, that to do just that. And none of them are just higher.
2) Fricken integrated WiFi! Excuse me, but I can not understand how someone can not use a wireless router to be a deep and abiding appreciation for this very important point. Full-featured streaming out of the box. Hello?
3) Awesome platform game! I think it's just as good and as important as the Xbox platform. Both platforms have their strengths and weaknesses. Both platforms have their own set of signatures are probably the best of the breed. I think the Halo series is prolly the best FPS series created for a console. PS3 Metal Gear Solid God of War series and perhaps both are best of breed in its genre.
This brings me around to cross-platform games. In particular, cross-platform games that affect the strength of a given hardware platform. Take a game like Ninja Gaiden II for Xbox and Sigma 2 for thin this guy. At some point, I think, Sigma Version 2 offers a better overall gaming experience for the following reasons.
a) The club Fricken 1080p!
b) Why was the first XB platform Tecmo has issued the OP, learn from their mistakes. At times, too many polygons in the XB-led version and you could experience moderate to severe frame rate drops sometimes highly inappropriate. I think the platform of struggle against the skinny guy looks more fluid. I know part of this is because usually we talk less enemies face into two sigma, but I think it should be. What is the purpose of throwing more enemies than the HW one player can effectively manage?
Here's my point. Since the Xbox does not sell Blu-ray and WiFi, you go down to the gaming platform and reliability, is not it?
I'm just saying I do not see how you compare the two platforms and the Xbox declare the winner. What would that be supported? I mean Halo a pretty cool game and lots of fun, but so what? For me? A game like Halo could never tip the scale when it comes to buying a console. bitches in my view a game or two titles is not enough. There are a lot of different bitches ass games for the PS3. I think in terms of most bang for your buck this guy rules slim PS3 now.
Do not misunderstand. I'm a fan of MS boi through and through. Ex: I have what was on top of the cell line two years ago would win like I Relly Mobile 6 update now. The user interface is very clumsy by today's standards, but I do not want to update the same two reasons. 1) The cell hw nor the protocol supports HSDPA 7.2. As far as I know there are still phones available in the U.S. that support the latest Protocol 14.0. 2) I know that the cells of the new generation come from around the beginning of September. Victory will be sporting new 7 mobile operating system (eg the Zune), resistance capacitive touch screen (think iPhone) and HSDPA support 14.0 minutes updatable firmware.
So I wait. I wait because I have a MS fanboi and a degree of indirect somehow my own clock. When I think of it, we could not make money if I do not for their asses. I am happy to win because, based on what I understand, what in the pipeline, I expect to 7 cells to rock the house. I'm waiting, because 9 out of 10 times I would always choose to and confidence in MS. I had no problems that will be adopted as the first one any cell, because MS is doing what they do best and have a heavy hand in hw.
Finally, the iPhone OS is a preemptive multitasking operating system and will not be in the near future. Also, the droids OS. And no phones with this operating system currently supports HSDPA 7.2, and 14.0 less the latest standards.
I realize I've slipped a bit, "but I have a reason. I am very happy with MS in the console arena today disappointed. The Boy Slim PS3 120 at its current price point, I think, is a completely superior to the Xbox. hands down. No matter how you want to see a lot more for your money with the PS3.
Until MS starts shipping consoles with Blu-ray and WiFi around the same price point, which I personally do not see it as not real competition for the PS3. If they do that I'll never rip an Xbox right as finished.
And is the standard Blu-Ray, which could include the Xbox again indefinitely. When I say I'm definitely still suffering behind choosing the wrong battle in the HD media.
While MS is quite accustomed to from different vendors tech license, I'm pretty sure that Blu-Ray license from Sony, under these circumstances is not exactly what you think. Do not say this will never happen. Just to say MS is generally not blow up knees looking under the circumstances. So, if the user leaves the Xbox?
The way I see MS has three options.
1) bust with pads for Sony.
2) Stay incompatible with Blu-Ray. If this option is not in itself as a sales booster.
3) Search and align with a company, the idea of a media format, the Blu-ray has an adequate level Eclipse.
Pretty hard to see happen in the next 3-5 years. 2, the Meh? 2 is an abomination for the Xbox. One is what they are supposed to do in the short term. If MS can send a box, Blu-Ray with WiFi built around the same price of the PS3 console, regardless of the quality of the product, shipping costs, there is no doubt that their sales would increase immeasurably.
Cons:
XBL blows doors on the PSN. Virtually no comparison. Tons of integration on XBL, that the NDP can be molested.
The PS3 browser is weak to be sure.
