When 3D Dot Game Heroes released on PS3 forth a little 'time, I was giddy with excitement. Here is a parlor game-From-software that really knows how to gameplay age kicking and screaming to bring 16-bit era of gaming consoles and HD market saturation FPS genre. It seems that every game made today can compete for players of dollars "if he did not shoot someone in the face do not count.
Enter the age of heroes, courtesy of Atlus, the publisher who brought us the incredible success and devilishly difficult Demon's Souls. 3D Dot Game Heroes is not an original concept, and it is dress up as anything other than a Zelda title, but this tribute brings clear that the magic, tradition and nostalgia I felt when I played Zelda as a child, not me lost today at the age of 32. The game harkens back to a simpler time when games are not all the graphics, film screenings and types of weapons of some fifty odd that you tear your friends and talk smack while hurling tea-bagging their digital body. No, 3D is not as Dot Game Heroes, but it is a journey that will not soon forget.
PRESENTATION
Under cold front clearly worn 3D Dot Game Heroes (3DDGH below) is a feature rich game that pays tribute, the very title of his inspiration: The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past Before you proceed, I must say that I appreciate all you share with me the incredible nature of 3DDGH. You must learn to offer all the Zelda franchise before they appreciate what 3DDGH to you. Why? Because not only has no evidence 3DDGH Zelda-esque game is splattered all over, really Zelda in a new wrapper. Some call it a rip-off, some people call it homage. I side with the latter in which I feel that today there are few games that do not borrow from others. Once again I bring you the FPS genre. Show me an original title, not an updated version of Doom or Wolfenstein, then support us. Be that as it may, with the revision of the title in hand.
3DDGH is presented in blocks, 3D graphics style. Basically it is a 2D top-down 8-bit and 16-bit Zelda games, appeared only in 3D. The nature of the block graphic is developing a play on words to explain exactly what would happen if a 2D game was suddenly moved in 3D, without a major facelift. Then serve the bit blocks and also serves a purpose. If you do not appreciate the art style in art 3DDGH, check the top of the door, she could have been shot out from your friends in Call of Duty. I love the graphics more than anyone here can understand, but I'm also open-minded player who loves a departure from the norm. I also appreciate the art more than anything else. A graphics engine is only as good as the art to cast, and of software and Silicon Studios has a fantastic job bringing the era of 2D games in 3D, without the graphical style decorated.
The world of 3D blocks Dot Game Heroes
The audio 3DDGH, as one would expect, is replete with orchestral pieces of 16-bit versions to play ... not so old, but old enough to meet the overall presentation of the school. The positions overworld theme each have a happy, determined and triumphant, while leaving the prisons, forboding and charm. Boss battles have their own songs, which kept my blood pumping. Overall, the sound is exactly what one of a title like that is to be expected that this incredibly accurate and assembly.
The main difference is that 3DDGH brings to the table in the Department of presentation is the color palette. Let's face it, this could be a way of recognition is, however, run on the PlayStation 3. The color palette has a variety of sketches, keep things fresh. Again it is a rough representation of the style, and you will find nothing eye-poppingly gorgeous here, but you can say the developers of the world much more alive than anything in the past.
One area of complaint I had was the frame rate in some places, particularly in the dungeons. I mean, come on: 3DDGH not seem to slide much more than a technical achievement framerate. The Dungeon of the fire is where I found so far the most problems. I also had freezes the game for me now twice, once I have saved. This may not fit exactly into the realm of the "presentation", but technical problems and issues distract from the overall presentation package, in my opinion.
Rating: 9.0/10 (You will not find anything groundbreaking, but if you like Zelda games last years of this title is all that the game deserves a score of 9.0 Presentation of pure nostalgia and a tribute to the long forgotten games password?)
Kill an opponent rewarded the explosion of a digital block ... and booty!
Story and characters
It is difficult to review this area of the 3DDGH, because there is not much when it comes to depth, are the protagonists and antagonists, and the story is. There is a hero (that's you), is a bad guy, and it is a good versus evil plot to get rid of that bad. Oh, and there are six essays that have orbits. Guess where the six balls are? Yep, in six prisons across the country distributed Dotnia.
Although the story and the characters are free of design, character editor 3DDGH is a welcome addition. It adds nothing to the story, but it works can activate, the player to build a character of your creation. With a system of colored blocks and a grid of 3D rotation, you can your 3D Dot Hero in a variety of poses to build, including the basement, on foot, and Viva. It is a bit "strong and there is also a trophy for your efforts.
The editor is a welcome addition to the game, and although there are a variety of prefabricated characters available from which you choose, create your own and share them with friends is very elegant and "Next-Gen."
The fall of 3DDGH is history, that it really is not one, at least none that we have not already seen if you've played any Zelda game since 8 - or 16-bit era. But a story is enough to us for the next dungeon, grabbed the Smack Down on a lot of bad guys, the agenda was a special sword, and the subsequent purchase of your arsenal.
Rating: 7.0/10 (the story is as basic as your character, but that's the point, do not take 3DDGH too seriously and do not pretend that the story does not hit bad, but it is not good ... only)

GAME
His 3DDGH that a message is to the players of the old school, a love letter to us if you want the game a masterpiece. The same mechanical slash, Travel to solve puzzles, go ahead and upgrade are all there, the premium style of the game where every action leads to greater prey, used to conquer new territories can be accessed or evil.
3DDGH features improved because of an already impressive formula. Instead of a sword made of wood, then iron sword, then upgraded iron sword, then the Master Sword, there is a much more complicated. Each weapon has a width, length, strength, special and unique attack power-ups, which are regulated by a system to "build potentially." Basically, each weapon has an amount of potential, and until the gun has the potential to buy upgrades for them. Once you have exhausted the potential, that is, one can not be updated and there is no way to reach a greater potential for this weapon.
In my first play-through, I bought the Claymore and its potential to update, because it allows me. This is by far one of the best weapons the game. The width and length are insanely great, very funny, that seems to be when handled. The picture below is good, but that is not fully updated Claymore. Trust me, the weapons in this game are huge, for a word game itself and a bit sarcastic hat games in this genre.
It is really a sword, or who is just happy to have me see?
Other factors are your hero acquires a boomerang, bow, bombs, Hookshot Device ... everyone knows that? It should. But a piece in the collection: bestiary. If you buy this book, you can as a secondary weapon, and struck it with enemies to use. They exist, but the main point here is to strike the "Books" the enemy and saves them in the Bestiary are over. Once done, you can read more about it in the pause menu, there is the evidence is sometimes the best way to defeat it, which it seems, where found, etc. You also have access to boss, very, very difficult because it takes a tremendous amount of visitors book. Again, there is a trophy waiting for you when you log on every enemy in the game.
This type of gameplay, especially during the fun and deliberately straightforward, it means also that the same problems are present. For example, the movement is still very "square", ie you get to go in only four directions in Zelda, since some enemies quickly change direction, it is very difficult to align your swing sword, and usually once or twice get caught before you defeat the enemy. Same in 3DDGH. Of software and share in some new products to alleviate this problem, such as updating purchase of some swords spin around in the game. Not all weapons available to spin, and are much more difficult to use.
Rating: 9.5/10 (you can not find much here that first game included with only minor problems here and there, the developers sarcasm to-many, there are tons of items, weapons, upgrades and updates to maintain the style of the game intact reward )
SUMMARY global SCORE
3D Dot Game Heroes is not for everyone. It is for old schoolers who do not mind the occasional scanning prison gameplay and stereotypical characters silently. The game rarely takes seriously and not thought. It is part of the charm is that From Software, Silicon Studios and Atlus. to update new additions to the genre in a big way as other items, weapons and more extensible, and mini-games spread around different cities. This is a true declaration of love for the 8 - and 16-bit days, when more games than the way it looked, or you could shoot was ... was the triumph of gameplay and fun first. 3D Game Heroes reached Dot this purpose and can not lose when you have a PS3.
Overall Rating: 9.0/10 inherent (some technical flaws and gameplay mechanical problems keep this for almost perfect score again, is a rare jewel and a shout-out for those of us who remember the Age of Heroes)
