This contribution is half of the public service to tech challenge (like me) and half of "change note to self" for the next time I change my settings for the Internet connection. In short, how many PS3 owners, all of which were published on the Internet for help connecting a PS3 to the Internet can be a challenge when you're not quite sure what you should be. I remember cursing the gods of Sony last year when I bought a PS3. Then, by some people on Twitter, I knew how to do it and all was well. I recently my home "net security from WEP to WPA2. (I did not know because I was worried not hacked, but because I somewhere that could be helpful, had a problem with my IPAD - stall wall and YouTube streaming read. Short answer: the problem does not improve.) But there, I ended up unplugging the Internet connection of the PS3, which means that Netflix, streaming, including mean, it was not. When I tried to set it back, I discovered that I, the procedure I had done before, forget it. A further round of consultations, Twitter, and I got back to work in the following way. I hope you will follow these simple steps may be useful to those who stumbled into this review in the future:
st On your PS3 go to Settings> Network Settings
nd Go to "Internet Connection"
rd Click on "Easy" method for the setting.
th Click "Wireless".
th Under "LAN Settings" click "Scan.
th Find your wireless network to view and click it.
th Under SSID network name should be instructive. This is the name under the icon at the top of the screen of your Mac
th If you have a WPA or WPA2, you click on that and on the next screen where you will be prompted for a password.
th This is where many people, myself included, was the problem. Apparently Apple Airport Admin Utility has given you the old password hex the PS3 to your wireless network must register. I do not think that the new AirPort Utility does. Instead, you go to this page. Under network SSID, type the name of the wireless network, as it appears on the screen. Under the WPA passphrase, type the password or choose Apple gave you for this network. If you do not know what it is, go to your keychain and look for the name of your network. If you miss a separate base station, can you have more than one of these. Click on the one, "says Airport network password" to "Art". The motto here is what you see as you enter the WPA passphrase. Click "Calculate" and you will be a very long hex key are provided. With the PS3 controller and the screen a bit "strange on television, it is what you type. Click on your PS3" x "button, and you should be ready to go.
out apology to all those who took either not this or that was more than capable. However, I know that is somewhere, sometime stumble, someone on this and very grateful.
